University of Wyoming to Require Mask Until September 20

The University of Wyoming has announced that the school will require to wear masks indoors until September 2o. The Board of Trustees vote to have the mask indoors and will monitor the data and will revisit the mask rule during the September meeting.

The news comes one week after Governor Mark Gordon announced that there will be no mask mandate for schools. The mask mandates do not affect people who work in offices alone and medical exemptions would prevent them from wearing a mask.

The University of Wyoming will be fully reopened to start the school year with full class capacity.  Students and employees will need to be tested before arrival on campus before the start of school while also encouraging vaccines. Seminars about Coivd-19 will be provided for everyone on campus.

The hope for the Board of Trustees is that the mandate is only for the start of the semester.
