Special Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board to be Held Wednesday, July 19

The Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board Chair has called for a special meeting for the Board to discuss the proposed temple that will be held Wednesday, July 19 at 6pm.

The meeting will be held in the City Council chambers in the City Hall, located at 1338 Ramsey Avenue in Cody.

On the agenda, the Board will hold a discussion on “The Findings of Fact” related to the Conditional Use Permit for the proposed temple of The Church of Latter-Day Saints.

The Board will also discuss “The Findings of Fact” related to the Special Exemption of the proposed temple, that is proposed to be built at 555 Temple Lane.

No action will be taken at this meeting. The purpose is strictly to discuss relevant legal criteria, such as statutory standards or code provisions.

The Board was going to discuss the proposed LDS temple at their bi-weekly meeting last Tuesday, but Todd Stowell, Cody’s City Planner, removed the items related to the temple from the agenda hours before the meeting was called to order.

The Planning and Zoning Board will have their next routinely scheduled bi-weekly meeting on Tuesday, July 25 and decisions pertaining to the proposed temple are expected to be addressed then.
