SkyWest Airlines is making a comeback at Yellowstone Regional Airport, but it’ll have a new name.  It will be called United Express and it will replace Commute Air, according to YRA Director Aaron Buck.  He made the announcement that SkyWest is returning to YRA last week on Speak Your Piece on KODI radio.

“Commute Air has been unreliable, and we’re excited to have SkyWest back,” YRA Director Aaron Buck said during a February interview.

SkyWest is the largest regional carrier in the country.  It operated for many years at YRA until 2022.  United Express will offer three daily flights beginning May 23, four daily flights during peak summer season beginning June 27 and at least two each day year-round.

All airline flights leaving Cody this year will be bound for Denver.

SkyWest Airlines serves 237 cities in 42 states, Washington, D.C., Canada and Mexico and carried 38.6 million passengers in 2023. The airline features 485 aircraft in its fleet and recently announced the acquisition of up to 39 Embraer E175 aircraft, its most popular plane.
