Shoshoni Woman Faces Decades In Prison For Shooting Her Boyfriend. She Turned Herself In To Police.

Crime Scene

A woman from Shoshoni, is awaiting her first court hearing on charges of shooting her boyfriend in the foot and damaging property.

30-year-old Jordan Christine Weliever faces two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of property destruction and one charge of reckless endangering in Riverton Circuit Court.

Police say she called 9-1-1 to early last Thursday morning to report her boyfriend, Thomas Captroni, had been shot in the foot.  An affidavit says the dispatcher asked who shot him and she confessed, saying, “It was me.  I shot him.”

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at Caproni’s home on Saltbrush Road to find a trail of blood leading up to the front door.  He told police he had been shot at Weliever’s home on Missouri Valley Road in Shoshoni and that she had been drinking alcohol before the shooting.  He told police she emptied the magazine of a semi-automatic handgun in his direction, striking him in the foot.

Weliever is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 11 in Riverton Circuit Court. She’s held on a $15,000 cash-only bond.  She faces decades in prison.
