Peter’s Café and Bakery Closing September 30

After being a fixture in the Cody community for over 30 years, Peter’s Café and Bakery is closing their doors.

An announcement was made in the Cody Area Classifieds Facebook Group by Katie Riley on behalf of the owner.

According to the post, the owner is retiring to care for their parent.

On the post Linda Richardson-Rednour wrote, “I am so sorry to hear this… you served Cody so well!”

Peter’s Café was known by Cody locals for their great food and great service.

The last day the café will be open for business is September 30. The owners will then have a retirement sale the first week of October.

In the post, the owner extended a heartfelt thank you to the citizens of Cody for the loyal support over the last three decades.

“Sad in the last week or so two of our forever places going out of business. Our Place and now Peter’s,” said post commenter Leslie Dohse-Brown. “ I understand their reasons but still such a loss for our community. They will be missed. Thank you all for your years of service to our community!”

This is not the first restaurant in the Cody to be closing their business in September.

Earlier this month, Our Place Café announced it would be closing their doors after 30 years of business. Their closure was due to staffing shortages.

Their last day will be September 17.
