The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a young woman from Powell. On February 24th, 2026 at approximately 6:58 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 14A roughly four miles west of Lovell.

Troopers arrived to find a 2008 Chevy Impala had been eastbound on 14A when it drifted off the road to the south. The driver overcorrected to the left, beginning a counter-clockwise spin as the car entered the north right-of-way. The vehicle then tripped and rolled. It landed on all four tires, slamming into a metal power pole on the passenger side.

The driver, identified as Kameryn Allphin, 19, of Powell was completely ejected from the Impala and died at the scene. The investigation found that Kameryn had not been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Driver inattention is believed to be the primary cause in this crash.

This crash brings the total deaths on Wyoming roadways to 20 in 2026, compared to 13 in 2025, and 10 in 2024.
