Cody Wins The Battle Of The Broncs

Cody opens 3A West Conference play against the Jackson Broncs on Homecoming in the “Battle of the Broncs”.

Cody had a 4-0 record with Jackson having a 2-2 record coming into the game.

The Cody Broncs would receive the opening kickoff and start their offense from the 31-yard line.

In 5 plays in 1:29 featuring a 49-yard run from Grady McCarten Cody would punch the ball in from the 3-yard line with a Luke Moulton touchdown, the ball was slick and the extra point got away. Cody up 6-0.

Jackson would end their first drive with an interception from Dillion Brost.

After trading punts, Cody would get the ball on a short field from Jackson’s 36, in 6 plays Cody would get a touchdown toss from Maddax Ball to Jace Jarrett.

Cody tried for a 2-point conversion but was unsuccessful. Cody up 12-0.

Trey Smith would score next for Cody with a 12-yard touchdown run on a 9-play drive that included a 22-yard reception from Chase Hatch and a 34-yard run from McCarten.

Jackson would go 3 and out on their next possession.

Cody would finish the 1st half with their 4th touchdown with a 5-play drive that was stamped by a 5-yard touchdown run by McCarten.

Trey Schroeder and Trey Smith would each get interceptions before the mid-way intermission.

It was 26-0 at halftime.

Trading possessions in the 2nd half for the first 3, Cody would put the ball in the endzone with the second TD of the game from McCarten with a 11-yard catch, Cody up 32-0.

The first score in the 4th Quarter came from a 7-yard touchdown run for Moulten’s second TD, Cody went up 40-0.

Jackson would get the ball in the endzone with a 6-yard touchdown pass from Harrison Ward.

Owen Peterson would cap off the Cody Broncs’ scoring with a 17-yard pick 6.

Jackson would put up the final score of the game with a second touchdown pass from Ward.

Cody won the “Battle of the Broncs” 46-14.

The Cody Broncs had 274 yards rushing on 47 attempts and 4 touchdowns, 8 different Broncs carried the football.

Cody had 14 receptions on 22 attempts for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns, 9 different Broncs had a reception.

Grady McCarten had 177 yards and a touchdown with 18 attempts along with a touchdown reception for 11 yards.

Jackson had 26 yards rushing on 19 attempts without a touchdown.

The Jackson Broncs had 22 receptions on 53 attempts for 434 yards and 5 interceptions with 2 touchdowns.
