Cody Nite Rodeo’s 1st Friday Cancelled and Other Events Postponed Due to Rain

The first Friday of June is a significant sign of summer. But Cody’s weather is determined to rain on everyone’s parade.

The Rotary Club of Cody scheduled its 2nd Annual Cody Cares Day to begin at Mentock Park at 7 a.m. Friday morning. Unfortunately, the wet weather had other plans and the event was postponed. The 2nd Annual Cody Cares Day was rescheduled to Friday, June 9 – same time, same place.

Meanwhile, the 3rd annual Par for Paws Golf Tournament fundraiser (benefitting the Park County Animal Shelter) was going to tee off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3. On Thursday, the shelter announced the tournament had been rescheduled for Sept. 23 at the Olive Glenn Golf Course.

Meanwhile, the Kid’s Free Fishing Day at Beck Lake Reservoir – sponsored by Cody Optimist Club, East Yellowstone Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and Wyoming Game & Fish – will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, “rain or shine.”

As of Friday morning, the Kick Off to Summer Concert and Rodeo – sponsored by Big Horn Basin Media and featuring country artist Ned Ledoux – is still kicking off on Saturday, June 3, at 5 p.m.
