Cody Cubs Battled Casper in a Wacky Wednesday Twin Bill

The Cody Cubs would return to action Wednesday as they hit the road for double header against the Casper Drillers.

This was a re-match from last years State Championship.

In one of the weirdest endings I’ve ever seen at the Legion level, the two teams would tie in the first game 8-8.

The game was called due to a 2-hour time limit prior to the start of this one. The time limit had to be imposed because the Casper Spuds (a collegiate summer baseball team that plays their games at Landing Field) had a game in the evening.

The Cubs used a 6-run 6th to keep from the loss.

In game 2, the Drillers would come away with the 10-5 win.

Casper rallied for a 4-run 2nd inning that proved to be to much.

Following all the action the Cubs are now 22-16-1 on the season.

Up Next: Cody returns home for a twin bill vs. the Billings Upper Deck Expos, Thursday, before the extended 4th of July weekend.
