Cody Broncs Basketball Start Season In Gillette

The Cody Broncs are headed over the Big Horns Thursday to compete in the 2023 ReMax Early Bird Invite in Gillette.

10 teams from 4 States will be at the tournament.

The team from Scottsbluff Nebraska finished last season 16-9 and went to the quarterfinals of the Nebraska Class B State tournament.

St. Thomas More from South Dakota was the Single A runner-up team, the Cavaliers went 21-4 last season.

Bismark Century was North Dakota’s Class AA 4th place team.

Of the Wyoming 3A teams at the invite, Buffalo finished 15-11 and were in the Semi-Finals last season.

The Bison are ranked number 3 in Wyoming 3A pre-season polls.

The Worland Warriors were Wyoming 3A State Champions last season with a 24-3 record.

The Warriors are pre-season ranked number 4 in Wyoming 3A.

Torrington is the final 3A team competing at the tournament finishing last season 10-16 and losing in the State Quarterfinals.

The Wyoming 4A teams include the 2 “home” teams in Campbell County who lost to the Broncs last season in the 3rd place bracket and went 10-18.

The Camels are Wyoming 4A pre-season ranked number 4.

Thunder Basin finished last season with a 14-11 record last season losing in the Wyoming 4A State Quarterfinals.

Rock Springs was 13-11 last season and did not qualify for State.

The Cody Broncs went 15-11 last season finishing 3rd in the Wyoming 4A State Basketball Tournament.

Cody will start the invite at 7 pm Thursday facing the Campbell County Camels at Campbell County High School.

On Friday the Broncs will see the Thunder Basin Bolts at Thunder Basin High School at 7 pm.

Saturday the Broncs are again at Thunder Basin High School and will play the Scottsbluff Bearcats at 10:30 am.
