The Cody Bronc basketball team played the Wyoming number 2 ranked 3A Powell Panthers Friday night in Powell.
The atmosphere was what you would expect from any Cody/Powell match-up, a packed house and enthusiastic fans.
Cody kept it close at the end of the first period trailing by 3 points.
The Panthers began to stretch their lead and would continue through the next 3 periods.
The 52-72 Powell win, on paper, looks worse than the story that was told on the court.
The Panthers just couldn’t miss that night.
Junior Maddax Ball and Senior Trey Schroeder both had 10 points, Senior Jace Jarrett with 9, and Junior Chase Hatch with 7.
Joe Arizmendy would give the Broncs 8 off the bench and Trever Spomer would also score off the bench.

Saturday night was the Battle of the Broncs as Sheridan would visit Sweitzer Gymnasium.
Sheridan had a halftime lead of 25-16 and would extend that lead to over 12 points.
Cody was able to get quick points offensively and defensive rebounds to close the lead and tie the game at 54.
Sheridan would close the game out with a 58-54 win, but Cody showed a never-give-up attitude that will serve them well in the season.
