The Wyoming Department of Health announced the state’s public health orders were being extended for another week – so what restrictions are still in effect?
Effective April 15, Wyoming’s two remaining related statewide public health orders are being extended without amendments for another two weeks. This is the regular bi-monthly update that has been in effect since the governor first enacted the orders in March 2020.
“While we continue to see stable case numbers and hospitalizations in most areas of the state, our overall progress seems to have plateaued,” said Dr. Alexia Harrist, state health officer, and state epidemiologist with WDH. “COVID-19 remains a threat for now, with cases growing in other states.”
While both health orders will remain active throughout April, neither affects most Wyoming adults’ day-to-day activities.
Mask use and physical distancing requirements are still in effect in Wyoming’s schools. All students and adults will be covering their faces.
Meanwhile, indoor events of more than 500 people may be held at 50 percent of venue capacity with specific face mask protocols for significant indoor events.
Face coverings are not required in public spaces. That restriction was eliminated on March 16, and Governor Mark Gordon has stated he has no plans to impose another mandate.
The Wyoming Department of Health still recommends everyone use face masks under specific conditions. Mainly, masks are encouraged in indoor public places, and when common-sense physical distancing cannot be maintained among people who don’t live in the same household.”
More than 175,000 individuals have received at least one vaccine dose so far in Wyoming when state and special federal counts are combined.
The updated orders go into effect on April 16 and will remain through April 30.
