Wyoming Basketball Coach Jeff Linder leaves for Texas Tech

A major turn of events has changed the landscape for the University of Wyoming Cowboys basketball program.

Jeff Linder is leaving the Wyoming Cowboys basketball program after four seasons to be a top assistant coach at Texas Tech University, according to 7220Sports.com.

Linder finished his four seasons as the head coach of the men’s basketball team with a record 63-59 which was highlighted by a trip to the NCAA March Madness tournament in the 2021-22 season after an at-large win.

Prior to joining the University of Wyoming, Linder was the head coach at Northern Colorado compiling an 80-50 record during his tenure. Linder coached all over the country, making stops at notable programs like Boise State, San Francisco State University, Weber State, and Emporia State, as well as other universities.

According to the report from 7220 Sports, the Cowboys have had to rebuild their roster the last two season adding 13 players from the transfer portal in the last two season.

Linder’s replacement has not been announced by the University at this time.
