WYDOT has resumed their driver license road tests.
As more of the state’s public health orders are relaxed and allow for things to return to normal, WYDOT announced that they will be offering non-commercial driver license road test by appointment only, starting this week. The locations offering these tests are Cody, Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette, Jackson, Laramie, Rock Springs and Sheridan.
Rather than simply going back to business as usual, there will be some pandemically-minded additions to the rest. The test will begin with a simple health screening and no-touch temperature checks before anyone hits the road. These changes have been approved by the State Health Department and the Governor’s Office, and all offices offering tests already have the equipment necessary to proceed.
The procedure for driver license road test is as follows:
- Contact your local Driver Services office.
- Arrive 15 minutes early.
- Go into the office to check in and confirm your mobile phone number.
- Wait outside or in their vehicle until an examiner contacts them on their cell phone.
In order to maintain social distancing, only a certain number of people will be allowed in an office at any given time, so its important that all the new procedures be followed. Find out more on what other changes and safety guidelines are being enforced at http://www.dot.state.wy.us/COVID-19.
