Usually, the Fourth of July is a day full of sun and fun, with parades, fireworks, maybe grilling and lathering on sunscreen to enjoy the outdoors.
But not today in the Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains until 8PM on Tuesday night.
Wet snow could accumulate from two to six inches above 9,000 feet. This could impact people who are traveling or recreating in that area and those elevations over the Beartooth Pass.
The Beartooth Highway above Vista Point could get “accumulating snow and experience windy conditions that could make travel difficult,” according to the National Weather Service’s severe weather alerts.
This is a continuous story. Check back later for more updates as they become avaiable.
