What is poisonous to pets?

Pet owners should be careful what they feed their pets, and what they have in and around their home.

Tuesday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick,” Dr. Sarah Buri of Cody Veterinary Hospital talked about certain foods, plants and household products that are poisonous to dogs, cats and horses.

Buri told Dudrick about the dangers associated with antifreeze and rat  poison, among other products. Some plants pet owners should avoid are lilies, foxgloves and poinsettias, she said.

As for foods, Buri said pet owners should be extra careful not to let their pets eat onions, garlic, leeks, grapes or raisins. She also warned pets should not eat peanut butter containing xylitol.
