Vitalant Holding Cody Blood Drive This Week

Wyoming needs your blood.

While everyone in the state is encouraged – if not implored – to stay home as much as possible, there’s one need that cannot wait – live-saving blood donations.

Vitalant returns to Cody this week for another community blood drive at VFW Post 2673 on 808 12th Street. Blood is always needed in our community, especially now that hospitals have been giving permission to resume elective surgeries in addition to their COVID-19 efforts. Vitalant needs a minimum of 200 pints of blood a day to provide enough for local community hospitals in Northern Wyoming and Southern Montana.

Sherri Houston, a Donor Recruiter for Vitalant, has been working to organize several Bighorn Basin drives during the pandemic. They have ensured all the needed safety precautions will be in place.

y The drive will be located at VFW Post 2673 on 808 12th Street:

  • Monday, May 11th from 10:30 am to 4:15 pm
  • Tuesday, May 12th from 11:30 am to 5:15 pm
  • Wednesday, May 13th from 9:15 am to 3 pm

This drive is by appointment only and all donors must wear a mask. For any additional questions and concerns, contact Vitalant at 877-25 VITAL.
