Turns Out, Wyoming’s Favorite Low-Rated Movie Is Epic Movie

Most people have a soft spot for a cheesy or “bad” movie every now and then. New analysis from CenturyLinkQuotes shows which low-rated movies are captivating Americans state by state in the early days of 2023, saying,  “these movies are fun to watch because they’re not masterpieces.”

Turns out, Wyoming’s favorite low-rated movie is Epic Movie. This was determined using Google Trends data to see which low-rated movies were most googled in each state.

The #1 low-rated movie in America was unsurprisingly—Cats (2019). It was searched most in eight states despite its Rotten Tomatoes score of only 19%.

Here are some high-rated (unlike these films) interesting findings:

  • The low-rated films on this list have an average IMDb score of 3.0 and an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 11%.
  • Of all the movies on the list, Disaster Movie has the lowest IMDb score of 1.9. The highest-scoring movie, The Room, rates 3.6 on IMDb.
  • After meeting for the first time while filming Gigli, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez won a Razzie for Worst Screen Couple in 2005.
    • The title couldn’t stop “Bennifer’s” real-life romance, however, which was recently rekindled after 20 years of separation.
  • 365 Days is the only low-rated movie on this list with a 0% Rotten Tomatoes score.
  • Halle Berry is one of only six actors in history to win both an Oscar and a Razzie thanks to Catwoman, the second most searched movie in America.
  • Out of all the movies on this list, Jack & Jill has the most Razzie Awards with 10 total wins.
