THE CODY CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS WERE IN LANDER OVER THE WEEKEND COMPETING IN THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT BUT DUE TO A RULE SNAFU, COULD NOT FIELD A COMPLETE TEAM. CODY’S TOP RUNNERS HAD TO BE HELD OUT OR THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN INELIGIBLE FOR THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET.
UNDER WHSAA RULES, RUNNERS CAN ONLY COMPETE EIGHT TIMES DURING THE FALL SEASON, DUE TO SEVERAL RUNNERS PARTICIPATING IN A RACE FOR HOPE EVENT, EVEN THOUGH THEY ENTERED FOR CHARITY, NOT TO RACE, WOULD’VE PUT THEM OVER LIMIT.
LEADING THE WAY AT THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT FOR THE FILLIES WAS AVA STAFFORD WHO FINISHED WITH A TIME OF 21:32 GOOD FOR 9TH PLACE.
FOR THE BRONCS THEY WERE LED BY RILEY NIELSON WITH A TIME OF 19:54.
