The Cody Fillies Volleyball Team Start Season Strong

The Cody Fillies Volleyball Team started their season last Friday at the Lander Invite.

Cody went into the tournament pre-season ranked number 2 in Wyoming 3A Volleyball.

The Lady Invite was a 12-team round-robin tournament that saw Cody face Pinedale, Big Piney, number 4 Lyman, and Wyoming Indian.

The Fillies lost their first season set to Pinedale 19-25 but would come back and win 3 straight sets 25-16, 25-14, and 28-26.

Cody wouldn’t lose another set all weekend long beating Big Piney 25-9, 25-16, 25-14.

The Fillies would face the Wyoming 3A number 4 ranked Lyman Lady Eagles Saturday morning and win in straight sets 25-17, 26-24, 25-14.

Cody would finish the Invite winning all 4 matches their final one against 2A Wyoming Indian in 3 straight sets.

Junior Sydney Simone had an 18-point run at serving for the Fillies against Wyoming Indian.

The Cody Fillies will be at the Gillette Invite on Friday and Saturday, 24 teams from across Wyoming and South Dakota are scheduled to compete.

Cody will start the tournament in Pool A with Campbell County, Sundance, and Rapid City Central.

The 1st day of Pool A will be played at Campbell County High School.

Cody starts with 2A Sundance at 11:00 am, followed by Rapid City Central at 3:00 pm, and 4A Campbell County at 5:00 pm.

Day 2 is Bracket play with the top 8 teams playing in the Gold Bracket, the middle 8 teams in the Silver Bracket, and the bottom 8 teams in the Bronze Bracket.
