SYP: San Jose Taiko

Wisa Uemura and Franco Imperial from the San Jose Taiko, along with Michael Gould, shakuhachi master, spoke about their appearance at Northwest College on Saturday night, March 18th at the Nelson Performing Arts Center.  The program is called “Rhythm and Flow: A Community Performance of Taiko and Shakuhachi.” They discussed the drum and the Japanese flute and how they perform together, the cultural significance of both instruments as well as how the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation has such a strong connection to the artists.
