Ken Straniere, PR and Marketing Manager, and Karen McWhorter, Collier Reid Director of Curatorial, Education, and Museum Services at the Center of the West, spoke about not one, but two new exhibits that are opening on May 20th. “The Tony Foster Watercolor Diaries from the Green River” features world-renowned artist Tony Foster who has traveled the world to capture in watercolors the most remote places on the planet. He fell in love with the West and particularly the Green River with its vast landscapes years ago and has been a frequent visitor to the Cowboy State although he lives in Cornwall, England. The Alfred Jacob Miller exhibit, entitled, “Revisiting the Rendezvous in Scotland and Today is about an artist who captured the fur trade back in its infancy in the American West. Both exhibits are described by Karen as “immersive” with artifacts from the era and the people who lived back in the 19th Century.
