With all the closures and cancellations, the Sheridan Avenue Project is moving along without any letup.
At the beginning of next week, the construction will shift from the south side to the northside of 10th, 11th, and 12th Streets. This means that the two-lane traffic will shift to the southside. This should be in place by Tuesday, March 24th. From there, the same process of tearing up and replacing the road and any adjacent sidewalks that are damaged.
The nationwide coronavirus crackdown hasn’t inhibited the construction project at all. They have enough supplies to get them through the entirety of Phase 1 of the Sheridan Avenue project, which is still on track to be completed by its required completion date of June 15th. By then, both sides of Sheridan between 10th and 14th Streets will be completely resurfaced and ready for summer traffic. WYDOT will not be closing their offices during the COVID-19 outbreak and plans to continue unabated.
That being said, in order to keep everyone safe, the weekly progress meetings have been temporarily moved from the Cody Club Room to the front porch of the Irma Hotel. This will minimize the risk of the virus infecting anyone in an enclosed space.
