Sheridan Avenue’s facelift is moving along swimmingly.
WYDOT held another community update yesterday at its new time and location: 9 am on the porch of the Irma Hotel, which will be the location of all weekly construction meetings for the discernible future. While business and pedestrian activity has slowed down, construction is literally chipping and smoothing its way forward.
Work continues on the north half of Sheridan Avenue from 12th Street to just east of 14th Street, with the north portions of 13th Street and 14th Street Intersections are currently closed, while 11th Street to 12th Street and the north intersection of 12th Street and Sheridan Avenue are now open. The north intersection of 14th Street and Sheridan Avenue has also been closed. The process is same: removal and replacement of damaged concrete pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk and removal and replacement of ADA ramps. Traffic is being carried in one lane each direction on the south half of the street during this time. The speed limit 20 mph through the work zone. No left turns are allowed.
WYDOT is keeping its promise by keeping the construction as unobtrusive as possible. Everything they hoped to accomplish should be completed by the June 15th deadline.
