The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southwestern Big Horn County, Northwestern Washakie County, and East-Central Park County until 3:15 p.m.
At 2:29 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, a severe thunderstorm was located over Meeteetse, moving east at 20 mph.
Quarter-size hail has been reported. Damage to vehicles is “expected.”
This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of Southwestern Big Horn, northwestern Washakie, and east-central Park Counties.
The N.W.S. Riverton recommends anyone in the area move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for their protection.
