People wanting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine need to make an appointment, Park County Public Health officials said Wednesday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick.”
Bill Crampton, nursing manager, and Dr. Aaron Billin, health officer, told Dudrick that only a certain amount of vaccine – for those who have an appointment – is brought to the clinics. (Make an appointment here.)
Billin said there are currently 12 active COVID cases in Park County, adding the general trend for COVID cases in the county is downward. In addition, there are 5,300 people in the county who are fully vaccinated.
Both Billin and Crampton reiterated that the vaccines are safe.
“The only component of the Moderna and the Pfizer vaccine that is known to be commonly allergenic is polyethylene glycol, or PEG, and that is a very rare allergy,” Billin said.
Crampton added, “We do have a standing order and procedure for managing allergic reactions and, so far in this county, I have seen none.”
