“We are pleased that our partnership will have a long-lasting impact on Powell Medical Foundation and the population they serve,” Moulton said.

The Powell Medical Foundation has already allocated the grant towards the purchase of a 3D Mammography unit for Powell Valley Healthcare. In addition to improving the early breast cancer detection rate, the unit will reduce indeterminate or abnormal mammograms.

“We are grateful for New York Life’s investment in the advancement of breast cancer screenings, which will change many lives for the better,” said Megan Pfefferle, Executive Director of the foundation. “Without the support from New York Life, we wouldn’t be able to further assist with the purchase of the 3D Mammography unit, which will reduce indeterminate or abnormal mammograms as well as aid in early breast cancer detection rate.”

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The new 3D mammography unit will enable enhanced care at Powell Valley Healthcare. for all Bighorn Basin residents who seek treatment in Park County.
