PHOTOS: Kick Off to Summer 2023

Ned Ledoux and his band hit the stage Saturday, June 3rd at the Big Horn Basin Media Kick Off to Summer concert, along with opening act Jared Rogerson and the Rodeo Wreck. Sponsored by Yellowstone Post Frame, the evening started off with a splash as the rain poured down causing the show to start thirty minutes late and the Cody Nite Rodeo to cancel their festivities.

But the rain didn’t stop over 2,000 concertgoers from having a great time, filling the stands of the legendary Cody Stampede Park. Rogerson and his all Wyoming band took the stage shortly after 5:45pm and delivered an awesome performance that helped warm the crowd up despite the weather conditions.

Born and raised in Wyoming, Ned Ledoux first started out in music at an early age, and shadowing his dad. In 1998, Ledoux began playing the drums for his father on tour until his dad passed away in 2005. After his father’s passing, Ledoux decided to carry on his father’s legacy as a solo performer, releasing three studio albums, “Sagebrush”, “Next in Line”, and most recently, “Buckskin”.

“I’m proud to carry on the tradition and a lot of songs that I write are going to relate with songs that my dad wrote and recorded because I lived the same life,” the singer/songwriter shared on his website. “I was born and raised on a ranch, which my family still owns outside of Kaycee, Wyoming. That was my life and it’s reflected in the songs I write. I just think back to those days working on a ranch and hanging out with my granddad, who taught me how to drive a tractor, work cows and everything that is associated with ranching, but music has always been my dream.”

Ledoux and his band filled the rodeo arena with high energy fun. “When people are coming out to our shows and spending their hard-earned money on a ticket, I don’t want to leave them disappointed,” told Ledoux to his website. “We’re going to give you a show and leave you wanting more. I’m always out of breath and soaking wet when we’re done, but it’s so much fun!”

When Ledoux left the stage, the crowd roared for an encore. Grinning ear to ear, Ledoux took to the stage giving the audience an incredible encore. The third annual Kick Off to Summer performer and his stellar band gave a performance that everyone will remember for years to come.

“I hope I inspire people to never forget where you came from,” Ledoux says. “That’s one thing I’m very proud of. I’m carrying on a tradition, but I’m writing my own story. I’m very proud of my family and friends and there’s one piece of advice my mom gave me when we were kids: ‘Never forget where you came from and show respect to people no matter where you are.’”
