What’s the Park County Sheriff’s Office doing during the COVID-19 crisis?
In a Facebook post yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office stated they will remain operational in both the criminal and administration capacities, but they too will be taking certain precautions to protect the employees and inmates in their care from exposure to COVID-19. The Detention Center is no longer allowing personal visits with inmates, along with closing the center to other non-essential persons including AA and Bible Study. All persons wishing to bring money or property for an inmate will need to use the USPS, and money will need to be in the form of a money order or a cashier’s check. These changes will be in effect until at least April 3rd.
The Park County Sheriff’s Office Administrative division will cancel the following until April 3, 2020, possibly longer:
- Conceal Carry Permit Applications (please call about renewals)
- Non-essential paperwork via the front window.
- No tours to the facility and no KIDPRINT ID program until further notice.
Park County has set up a webpage, sort of a one-stop-shop for this and other information.
