Powell and Meeteetse can pride themselves on having two of the Top Ten School District in Wyoming.
The website Niche, which complies several data sets and personal testimonials to rank schools and neighborhoods, released a list of the top ten school districts in the state based on student to teacher ratios, test scores and proficiency in subjects like reading and math. To quote their website: “The 2020 Best School Districts ranking is based on rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, and more.”
The number one spot when to Teton County School District No. 1 in Jackson, but Park County was one of the best represented districts on the list. Park County School District No. 16 in Meeteetse came in 3rd on the list with an overall A grade. Park County School District No. 1 in Powell wasn’t far behind, coming in 5th with an A-.
And Cody? Park County School District No. 6 only barely missed the Top Ten, coming in 11th with a grade of B+ But Park County as a whole has clearly demonstrated his educational success.
