Commissioner Scott Mangold will make another run at his seat as a county commissioner. Mangold, the former mayor of Powell, says while he’ll run for a second term, it will be his last.
“A lot of things are coming up, especially with the property regulations he said on Monday. The filing period for commissioner and other primary election partisan and municipal offices runs May 16th through the 31st.
Mangold’s seat and that of Lee Livingston are up for grabs. Livingston announced Monday that he is not running again.
Meantime, a new candidate is throwing her hat in the ring. Cody business owner Karin Richard announced Sunday that she will run for one of the two open seats. Richard runs Outdoor Adventures Revived, a used outdoor gear store. She has also worked in the health, fitness and recreation fields for almost 30 years.
If elected, Richard plans to take on such issues as a proposed state shooting complex being proposed for Park County, the proposed convention center, construction of the new Meeteetse Recreation Center, affordable housing and several budget issues.
