The Trappers boys basketball team was back in action over the weekend of the 24th for the first time since last season hosting some exhibition games.
They had three contests in Cabre Gym on Saturday and were able to go 2-1 on the day winning the first game against Dawson Community College 51-49.
They lost the second scrimmage to Western Wyoming Community College in another nail biter 50-48.
Finally, they had a rematch of Dawson again and won by a much wider margin of 57-45.
NWC had some strong performances on Saturday but head coach Jay Collins and the rest of the staff know their is a lot of work to do.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do on the defensive end,” Collins said. “Things we’ve worked on in practice didn’t translate very well. We didn’t do the little things; we didn’t deny passes.”
NWC’s season starts the 2021 season on January 22nd, at Salt Lake Community College, leaving the team some time to prepare and get ready for the seasons tipoff.
