Elgin Baylor was the 1st Pick in the 1958 NBA Draft. He would win the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1959. Baylor was an 11 time NBA All-Star and a 10 time All-NBA First Team.
Baylor was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1977. He was the General Manager for the Los Angeles Clippers for 22 years winning the Executive of the Year Award in 2006.
Elgin Baylor grew up in Washington D.C. playing his first two years of basketball at Phelps Vocational High School in segregated D.C. He then finished his High School career at Spingarn High School. He was a 3 Time All-City player.
Elgin played his College basketball at the College of Idaho for two years and played a single season at Seattle University leading them to their only Final Four appearance. Baylor averaged 31.3 points per game and 19.5 rebounds per game during his 3-year college career.
Elgin “Rabbit” Baylor was born September 16th, 1934, and passed away March 22nd, 2022 he was 86.
