Lasseter Launches Campaign for Commissioners Board

Tim Lasseter is making a run at the Park County Commissioners Board.

Lasseter is a Cody resident who moved into town 8 years ago, initially drawn to the Western culture and scenic landscape in Cody, he has since launched multiple campaigns for public office.

After first making a run at the Park County School District 6 School Board in 2018, he later launched a campaign for the county clerk’s office in 2022.  More recently, Lasseter has officially launched a bid for the Park County Commissioners Board.

“I had no intention of being involved in politics,” Lassiter said. “I came to Wyoming thinking I moved to the reddest state in the union… but then you have people that get elected as Republicans, and they get into office and they rule like liberal Democrats.”

After just three months in Cody, Lassiter ran for the school board.  Though unsuccessful, he garnered approximately 1,500 votes.  Four years later, he garnered around 4,000 votes in his bid for the Park County Clerk position.

“People obviously liked what I had to say,” Lasseter said regarding his performance in previous elections. “You have two groups here – there’s a group that despises me, because I tell the truth, and you’ve got a group that loves me, because I tell the truth.”

Lasseter has framed his campaign as offering a return to conservative leadership at the county level.  If elected, he’s committed to transparent leadership that listens to the citizens of Park County and ensuring election integrity, more specifically, hand counting ballots.

“I would do everything in my power to see that we had (hand counting ballots) done before the next election, and I see no reason why we couldn’t in a two-year stretch,” Lasseter said.
