Lady Warriors Lose Heartbreaker At The Buzzer

On the Playing For Hope “PINK” game, the Lady Warriors hosted Thermopolis on Thursday.

The Lady Warriors came into the game with a 4-13 overall record and 1-4 in the conference.

Thermopolis came into the game 2-15 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

With a win, the Lady Warriors would clinch the 3 seed in the Northwest Quad.

The Lady Warriors finished the first period down by 6 points 12-18.

In the second period, Worland would gain the lead holding the Lady Bobcats to just 3 points and scoring 11 of their own that included a 6-point half from Junior Adisyn Rollins, Yahaira Aguayo, and Nayelli Aguayo.

Worland would take a 2-point halftime lead into the locker room 23-21.

In the 3rd period, the Lady Warriors would maintain the lead that included 3-pointers from Junior Manaia Peterson, Yahaira Aguayo, and Rollins, adding 1 extra to take a 33-29 lead into the final period.

In the final period, the Lady Bobcats would close the lead Worland had held since the 2nd period.

Thermopolis had only 3 players score. Ruth Johnson had 4 points, the other 2 scorers were Freshman Kamryn Farrell with 16.

The other Freshman, Jayssie Owsley scored 24 points including a falling away, bank off the glass, 3-pointer with 2 seconds left on the clock.

The Lady Warriors would lose on a buzzer-beater 43-40.

Worland is 4-14 and 1-5 in the Northwest Quad, the seed the Lady Warriors will have going into Reginols will not be known until the conclusion of the regular season.
