Another casualty of the coronavirus uncertainty is kindergarten registration.
Originally scheduled to take place tomorrow, April 30th, registration for the Cody School District has been canceled. At this point, that’s about all there is to say on the matter. Brooke Sieg, the Early Childhood Community Liaison for Park County School District #6, says she is also waiting for more specifics on when registration will be rescheduled, but a process is in the works. The District is developing an online registration website but there’s currently no timeline for when it will be available.
According to Sieg, there was already a healthy amount of uncertainty around kindergarten registration in Wyoming before the pandemic complicated things further. For a child to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten in the state of Wyoming, he or she must have turned 5 on or before September 15. The compulsory school age in Wyoming by statute is age 7.
