On Sept. 25, nine employees of the Irma tested positive for COVID-19. The restaurant voluntarily closed after this discovery.
Park County Public Health has never mandated the closure of any establishment due to COVID. Dr. Aaron Billin, the county’s Public Health Officer, stated the Irma had been in good compliance with the state’s public health orders when he indirectly confirmed the positive tests at the Irma.
Park County has seen an influx of cases in the last few weeks. Monday’s update from Park County Public Health reported 25 active cases in Cody, with 9 probable cases.
There was a total of 38 active and 21 probable cases throughout Park County as of Oct. 4.
