James Klessens, CEO of Forward Cody has received the Linda Hewitt Memorial Community and Economic Development Award, for his work in leading Forward Cody’s efforts to attract new businesses and jobs to the community. The award is presented annually to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to community and economic development in the Cowboy State.

(Cody, WY – Sept. 26, 2023) – Forward Cody, a nonprofit organization dedicated to economic development in Cody, Wyoming, is pleased to announce that its CEO, James Klessens, has received the Linda Hewitt Memorial Community and Economic Development Award. The award is presented annually to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to community and economic development in Wyoming.
Klessens was recognized for his work in leading Forward Cody’s efforts to attract new businesses and jobs to the community. He has also been instrumental in developing and implementing a number of initiatives to support local Cody small businesses and entrepreneurs.
“We are incredibly proud of James for receiving this prestigious award,” said Bruce Sauers, Board Chair of Forward Cody. “His dedication to our community and his tireless work to promote economic development are truly inspiring.”
Klessens accepted the award at a ceremony held on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at the Wyoming Economic Development Association’s Working Together conference. In his remarks, he thanked the Forward Cody team and the Cody community for their support.
“I am honored to receive this award,” Klessens said. “It is a testament to the hard work of our team and the commitment of the Cody community to economic development. I am excited to continue working to make Cody a vibrant and prosperous place to live, work, and raise a family.”
