Although much emphasis has recently been put on preparations for next summer’s Sheridan Avenue repairs, a construction project in Yellowstone National Park has the potential to impact visitation this year.
A major repair at Fishing Bridge will cause some delays for travelers on the East Entrance road this summer. Cody Chamber Director Tina Hoebelheinrich says that construction on the bridge is going well, thanks to good weather and optimal conditions this past fall.
However, that project is just one of two major construction sites on the East Entrance road. The other, near Pelican Creek, will begin this summer. Hoebelheinrich says that engineers anticipate a similar situation to the Fishing Bridge project when it comes to delays for travelers.
The public will have an opportunity to visit with staff from the Park on May 13th, when officials from Yellowstone and Grand Teton appear at the annual Parks Day luncheon.
