Firewood Permits Now Available Online

Firewood

Firewood permits for the Shoshone National Forest are now available for purchase through a new online E-Permit system.  Permits may be purchased by computer or mobile device any time and eliminates traveling to your local Forest Service office.

“We’re excited to introduce this new online permit as we continue to serve the public, now in a more convenient way.” Reflected Ken Coffin, Shoshone National Forest, Forest Supervisor.

This new service provides flexibility and convenience to our forest users. To purchase a firewood permit or to learn more about permits and gathering firewood online visit www.fs.usda.gov/main/shoshone/passes-permits/forestproducts. Traditional firewood permits will still be available to purchase at local Forest Service offices.

The Forest Service will continue to refine and improve the quality of the online permit system and add additional special forest product permits in the future.  For more information about the firewood program on the Shoshone National Forest please contact your local ranger district. For other updates on the forest visit http://www.fs.usda.gov/shoshone, follow us on Twitter (@ShoshoneNF), or like us on Facebook (US Forest Service – Shoshone National Forest).

As America’s first national forest, the Shoshone National Forest has 2.4 million acres of diverse terrain and a mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the forest to meet the needs of present and future generations.
