The Cody Basketball teams were back in action over the weekend with the Fillies coming away with a sweep of their opponents while the Broncs fell in their two contests.
The Fillies would opened up the weekend with a 59-36 statement win over a historically great Kelly Walsh squad, Friday night.
The Fillies would use a second half burst where they scored 34 points to put Kelly Walsh away.
Molly Hays would lead the way for Cody with 15 points on the night. Torrie Schutzman added 12 and Izzy Radakovich scored a career high 11 points in the win.
The next day the Fillies would open conference play with a dominating 52-19 win over Riverton to open quad play 1-0.
The defense would shine in their first quad game of the season only allowing seven first half points. It was an overall dominating team performance as the Fillies had eight different players score a bucket led by Molly Hays with 13 points. Jessa Lynn would score here first two varsity points of the season in the win.
The Fillies are riding a seven game win streak.
As for the Broncs, they would put up a valiant effort against Kelly Walsh, Friday, but fell in the end by a final score of 65-51. In their first conference game on Saturday, Riverton proved to be too much early on defeating the Broncs by a final of 61-43.
Luke Talich led the way for the Broncs on the weekend averaging 17 points in their two contests. Tristan Dollard was a bright spot on Saturday dropping in 16 points.
Following the weekend series, the Fillies are now 7-1, 1-0 in conference play. The Broncs are 1-7, 0-1 in conference play.
Up Next: Both Cody teams resume quad play, taking on Natrona County Friday. That double header is scheduled to get underway at 6pm with the girls, boys to follow at 7:30pm. On Saturday they travel to Rock Springs for a double header with the girls getting underway at 3pm, followed by the boys at 4:30pm.. As always you can catch all those games live on KODI.
