The most recent wyopreps.com coaches and media basketball polls were released on Wednesday and features some slight changes.
We’ll start with a look at the girls basketball rankings.
In Class 4A: The Cody Fillies, after falling to Star Valley last Friday have dropped to the No. 5 team in 4A. Thunder Basin remains on top with Cheyenne East moving up to No. 2. Following a loss to Green River, Natrona falls to three with Green River jumping Cody for the fourth spot.
In Class 3A: Douglas has a stranglehold on the No. 1 spot, as they remain undefeated and earned every first place vote. Lyman moves into second with Mountain View third. Lander is at four with Pinedale fifth.
In Class 2A: Moorcroft is again on top with only a minor lead over Rocky Mountain who comes in at No. 2. Shoshoni is third with Wyoming Indian falling to fourth. Tongue River sits in the five spot.
And in Class 1A: Cokeville sits on top, followed by Upton and Kaycee in second and third. H.E.M. Jumps up to four with Southeast five.
As for a look at the boys basketball rankings.
In Class 4A: Not a whole lot of change took place. Sheridan is a unanimous choice for No. 1. Thunder Basin sits in second followed by Cheyenne Central and East at three and four. Laramie jumps into the top five at No. 5, knocking out Campbell County.
In Class 3A: Despite losing two straight games Worland sits on top. Powell jumps up to second with Buffalo climbing to third. Mountain View makes their debut at No. 4 and Rawlins sits at five. Lander falls out of the top five.
In Class 2A: Rocky Mountain breaks a tie with Sundance and is alone up top this week with Sundance No. 2. Big Piney is third with Tongue River fourth and Big Horn now fifth.
And in Class 1A: Encampment is on top followed by Upton, Farson-Eden, Saratoga and Southeast, in that order.
