Football season is winding down in Wyoming as there is just one week left in the regular season for Class 1A 6-Man. For the Meeteetse Longhorns they are one of two remaining unbeaten teams in Class, 6-man and are ranked 2nd. The other unbeaten? Well that would be Farson-Eden who is ranked Number 1. The Longhorns travel Farson this weekend for a showdown of behemoths with the winner apturing the number 1 seed through the playoffs and would host the State Title game if were to make it that far. Kick-off between the Longhorns and Pronghorns is scheduled for Saturday at 1pm in Farson.
By the Numbers: Meeteetse comes into this contest with a perfect 6-0 record on the season, 5-0 in conference play which leads all of Class 1A 6-Man. On offense the Longhorns are 7th in rushing the football at 231 yards a game, 3rd in passing at 154 YPG and 3rd in total offense averaging 385 yards a contest.
On the defensive side Meeteetse allows 185 yards on the ground good for 4th, 142.5 yards through the air, good for 7th and allows 328 total yards per game which is 5th.
As for Farson-Eden, on offense the Pronghorns are first in team rushing at 327 yards per game, first in total offense averaging 434 yards a contest and are 12th in passing only averaging 107 yards through the air.
On the defensive end, Farson-Eden is 2nd against the run giving up 140 YPG, 9th through the air allowing 145 yards and are 2nd in team defesne giving up 286 YPG.
What’s At Stake: Both Farson-Eden and Meeteetse are undefeated on the season. Farson-Eden is the No. 1 ranked team is 6-man with Meeteetse No. 2. Winner of this contest garners home field advantage through the playoffs and would be the host of the State Championship game if either make it that far.
