The Bureau of Land Management Worland Field Office has temporarily closed Cactus Drive.
Located 4.5 miles east of Worland and 1.2 miles south of U.S. Highway 16, the road can no longer support vehicles crossing the drainage culvert.
The department says the road will remain closed until the damage has been assessed and repairs can be completed.
“For your safety and to prevent further resource damage, we need to temporarily close Cactus Drive,” said BLM Worland Field Manager Mike Phillips. “We appreciate your patience while the needed repairs are completed.”
This year, the Big Horn Basin has experience heavy precipitation that has resulted in damage to many backcountry roads. Please use caution and travel safely. If in doubt about the stability of a road, please turn around.
