Park County will be offering two drive-thru clinics – one in Powell and one in Cody – for everyone to receive their flu shots for the upcoming 2020 flu season.
Usually held indoors at venues like the Cody Auditorium, this drive-thru model ensures that patients and medical staff remain as safe as possible from the transmission of COVID-19
Park County Public Health Nurse Bill Crampton explains that the shot will not prevent COVID-19, but it will ensure that the virus isn’t made worse by having to fight the flu as well.
The process shouldn’t take any more time than usual to complete, a maximum of 20 minutes. Costs are $25 dollars for adults and $20 for kids, with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance all accepted.
Crampton says the flu shot is doubly important this year, but it’s also important to continue the day-to-day hygienic habits everyone mastered during the pandemic. That will ensure the continued health of yourself and others during the flu season.
The first Drive-Thru Flu Clinic will be held at the Park County Fairgrounds in Powell on October 7th.
The second will be at the Cody Stampede Rodeo Grounds on October 14th.
Shots will be administered between 10AM and 1 PM and 3 to 6 PM on both days.
