Donations Sought to Repair Vietnam Memorial

A foundation is looking for donations to help pay for repairs to the Wyoming Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Cody.

The Vietnam monument was developed and dedicated in 1986 at Wyoming Veterans Memorial Park on the Greybull Highway.

Wednesday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick,” Wyoming Veterans Memorial Park Foundation board members Warren Cheney and Jona Vanata said the monument is in need of about $50,000 worth of repairs. They’re planning to have the renovation completed by Memorial Day.

To help fund the project, the foundation has started the “Save the Wall” campaign and has set up an account at Pinnacle Bank in Cody for those wishing to donate.

The park in Cody also features other memorials – World War I, World War II, Korean War, Enduring Freedom engagements and peace-time service – honoring Wyoming veterans who sacrificed their lives. The newest is the War Dog Memorial.
