The long-time CEO of Cody Regional Health is retiring.
The Cody Regional Health Board of Trustees announced that Chief Executive Officer, Doug McMillan, is retiring from his position, according to a media release.
McMillan, who has over 40 years of service to rural healthcare, will step aside from his role as leader of the healthcare system on November 22, 2024.
According to the release, “McMillan joined West Park Hospital, now Cody Regional Health, as CEO in 1997,” and throughout his tenure, McMillan expanded hospital services, enhanced medical staff engagement, and increased financial profitability all while keeping a focus on those who needed it most: the patient.
“Working alongside such dedicated and talented colleagues has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished and look forward to what Cody Regional Health continues to achieve,” McMillan said.
Starting in the new year, the CRE Health board will launch a national search for the hospital’s next CEO with the help of a consultant and management partner who also recruited CRH’s CFO.
McMillan received his bachelor’s degree in hospital administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and a master’s degree in hospital administration from the University of Colorado.
He grew up in Absarokee, Montana.
