The Cody Track Teams were back in action Monday as they played host to their own Cody Invite, the Cody Meet-Ster Bunny Invitational.
Both the Broncs and Fillies would each take 2nd place, behind 4A opponent Sheridan. The Powell girls finished 3rd with the Powell boys 4th.
And now let’s take a look at some of the top individual performers, looking at top 5 finishes. First for the Fillies:
Alessandra Broussard was 5th in the 100.
Ada Nelson was 1st in the 800.
Taylen Stinson and Kylie Silva went 1-2 in the 1600.
Mersades Jackson was 2nd in the 3200 with Zelma Rudd 4th and Sunday Schuh 5th.
Callie Shelton was 5th in the 100 Hurdles.
The 4×800 Relay Team was 1st, the 4×400 team was 2nd and the 4×100 team was 4th.
Kenzie Ratcliff, Allison Gee and Rainey Powell finished 2-4 in the High Jump.
Isabel Taylor was 5th in the Triple Jump.
Kelsey Pomajzl took 2nd in the Pole Vault. Isabelle Paddock was 3rd with Hailey Holeman 5th.
Sophie Radakovich was 5th in the Discuss and Laura Phillips was 5th in the Shot Put.
And now taking a look at the Broncs and their top 5 finishers:
Dillon Brost won the 100 with AJ Baustert 2nd.
Aiden Power was 5th in the 400.
Charlie Hulbert won both the 800 and the 1600.
David Juergens took 5th in the 800.
Ben Stewart was 3rd in the 3200.
The 4×800 Relay Team was 1st, the Sprint Medley Relay team was 2nd and the 4×400 team was 2nd.
Robby Porter won the High Jump. Maddax Ball, Jace Jarrett and Ben Hogan finished 2-4.
Logan Class was 2nd in the Long Jump with Jacob Ball 5th.
Christian Dudrick was 5th in the Triple Jump.
Kaden Clark was 4th in the Pole Vault. Logan Class was 3rd in the Discus with Jace Grant 5th.
The Cody Filly Softball team was finally able to make their season debut late last week as they traveled to Worland for a Double Header.
The Fillies offense was rolling early as they put up a whopping 24 runs in the opener.
In game 1, the Fillies would would win by a final of 13-2.
Cody also took game 2, this time a shutout, 10-0 over the Lady Warriors.
The Cody Fillies Softball team officially begins the season 2-0.
Up Next: Cody Softball travels to Casper.
On Friday they’ll face Kelly Walsh.
The Cody Warriors Lacrosse team made their season debut over the weekend as they took part in 3 games over the course of 2-days.
On Friday, the Warriors would officially open the season with a 12-11 win against Helena.
Attack-man Noah Vogt had 5 goals and 3 assists.
In goal was Richie Bates who took 23 shots on goal, saving 12.
Josh Sauers was clutch on face-offs, winning 14 of 22 and Lane Rohde won 3 of 5.
The team then returned to action, Saturday, for a pair of contests.
They would lose to Bozeman 14-5 but answered that with a quality 13-8 win over Missoula.
Against Bozeman Vogt led the way for Cody with 2 goals scored.
Against Missoula, Rohde led the way with 4 goals. Freshman Sean Gaul and Carter Zink from Buffalo each had 2 goals.
Cody Warriors have joined forces with Buffalo Wyo Lacrosse to roster a strong 25 players this year.
The Warriors Lacrosse Club Team opens the season 2-1.
Up Next: They are back in action this Saturday, as they travel up to Great Falls, Mont., April 15th.
Cody will play host to Sheridan Lacrosse Friday May 12th at 6pm.
