Why aren’t all students and teachers in the U.S. back in school?
It’s almost March, and many school districts across the country – in Chicago, New York City and Los Angeles, for example – are still debating, due to COVID-19, whether or not students and staff should return to the classroom.
On the other hand, Park County School District No. 6 and other Wyoming schools have been back in the traditional classroom since the start of the school year last fall.
And everything has been just fine.
Sure, there have been times when several students and staff were out after either testing positive for COVID or due to contact tracing. But with several precautions in place, kids are going to school, learning, socializing with friends, playing sports and participating in other extracurricular activities.
So what’s the current status of COVID in Cody schools?
Quarantined: one student and zero staff … in the entire district.
