The Cody Bronc Wrestling Team is ranked 5th overall behind Green River at number 1, Pinedale 2, Rawlins 3, and Evanston 4 in Wyoming 3A Wrestling.
Cody is taking 13 boys and 1 girl to the Wyoming 3A State Wrestling Championships in Casper on Friday.
Several wrestlers are ranked and have top seeds in the tournament.
In the 120lb weight class, Cody has 2 wrestlers.
Senior Ty Peterson who is ranked 2nd and has a 33-9 record will face Freshman Weston Green from Green River with a 5-13 record.
Sophomore Will Wood with a 29-15 record and ranked 3rd in Wyoming 3A will face Sophomore Keith Shelton 25-7 from Evanston.
In the 126lb weight class Cody also has 2 wrestlers.
Wyoming’s number 1 ranked Junior Trey Smith 29-3 and a former State Champion as a Freshman will face Freshman Brayden McMullan 3-2 from Green River.
7th ranked Freshman Kort Sorenson 15-13 will face Gabriel Trujillo 29-15 Sophomore from Rawlins.
In the 132lb weight class Senior Taylor Baggs, ranked 4th in Wyoming 3A 20-9 this season, will face Torrington Junior Griffin Wolfe 12-9.
In the 138lb weight class Cody has Freshman Gabe Grant who is 26-13 for the season and ranked number 2 in Wyoming 3A facing Sophomore Jaeden Ruiz 3-4 from Torrington.
In the 144lb weight class Sophomore Kannon Grant 24-11 is squared off against Douglas Junior Caeden Robertson 21-20.
Wyoming 3A number 2 ranked Senior Micah Grant 18-11 faces Evanston Senior Haxon Haider 23-13 at the 150lb weight class.
In the 165lb weight class Sophomore Alex Sitz 17-20 ranked 5th in Wyoming 3A will face Wyoming 3A ranked 6th McKale Foley 24-14 from Powell.
In the 175lb weight class Sophomore Cinch Dalton 16-15 will receive a first-round bye.
Junior Logan Barton 12-15 with wrestle Junior Jordan May 12-9 from Riverton at the 190lb weight class.
Wyoming 3A ranked 5th Sophomore Anker Stewart 18-16 will face Torrington Junior 0-2 Nicholaus King.
In the 285lb weight class Senior Zach Barton 17-17 Wyoming 3A ranked 4th wrestles Wyoming 3A ranked 5th Johnathan Harms 13-17 from Powell.
For the Fillies Sophomore Ashten Hubbs ranked number 1 in Wyoming’s 170lb weight class, Hubbs is undefeated 20-0 this season and will face Junior Payzli Nield 2-7 from Star Valley.
The matches begin Thursday at noon and continue through Saturday.
